Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. Early on, while living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. I could not learn or do enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact on her culinary point of view. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. She is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she often says that she feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion to others.
