Rochon is the daughter of Zelma Staples and Samuel Staples. She was born in Torrance, Los Angeles, to Zelma Staples and Samuel Staples. Rochon is a 1982 graduate from Cerritos High School, located in Cerritos, California. In 1986 she received her bachelor's degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in which she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. Her degree also included minors in sociology and theatre. Rochon returned to CSUDH to speak at the commencement ceremony in 2016 as a keynote speaker.

Heather Storm has been a producer and host on TV for various networks. She also writes about travel. A car lover Heather also served as host for Garage Squad at Discovery MotorTrend Network. Heather created and hosts the travel-themed show on YouTube called Drive Yourself Local where she tells stories from the locals in rural towns, while touring America in her 1965 Ford Mustang. Ullerup was first seen in Battlestar Galactica remake, the Sci Fi Channel's 2006 TV show. The role she played was Julia Brynn. Ullerup performed the role of Ashley Magnus in the first and second seasons of the tv show Sanctuary up until her role was cut from the script. Her character was subject to intense debate among fans who wanted her to return in future shows. But, the show ended up being cancelled in the year 2012. Ullerup was cast in 2016 as Bree O'Brien for Chesapeake Shores. Ullerup played Maggie Thomas as the estranged ex-wife of Michael Thomas in Asteroid: Final Impact. In 2016, Ullerup is seen in a frequent character as Dale Travers in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered films series.
